The first thing I want to do with a load of pics is test for sharpness/focus accuracy i.e. technical proficiency

What I want is a FAST, FAST FAST way to do this

As it is it still takes quite a while for the loupe tool or 1''% view to allow me to view what is usually a tiny portion of the image to test for focus accuracy or sharpness e.g. the eyes or whatever the point of focus is. This is needed aq lot when using large apertures e.g. f1.2 or shooting at slow shutter speeds

Testing for 1''s of images still takes a very long time

So it would be great if the loupe could snap in really fast just on the portion covered withn the loupe

Simonius,

Like the Loupe in Bridge, right?
Hehehehe, you do like Bridge!
Yes, this is a request already made to Adobe; it is useful for fashion, portrait and beauty photographers, which is exactly what I do!
Regards,

In the meantime, select all of the images you want to check at 1''% and go to Library menu > Previews > Render 1:1 previews and wait for it to finish. Depending on your hard drive speed, flicking through in Loupe mode (not Develop mode) should be almost instantaneous.

Interesting you bring in the Bridge comparison. I think its a RSP tool, and i wish LR had it too.
