sharing of catalog

This is the first time I will be using LR, and there are some questions I need to know. I'm using FTP for storing and transferring files. Is it possible to share also the catalog to other PC? For example I have Modify a image on my PC, and I save it. Can my action be shared to other PC, or can Other PC apply the mod on the images using my catalog. All in all can other PC, use and apply that i have made on my catalog.

Or is there any other software that can do or partially like this.

Welcome to the forum aniracz!

The easiest way to share between computers is to load the catalog and files on an external hard drive and use that when going back and forth between computers. You can open the catalog off the particular computer that the hard drive is plugged in to.

If, for some reason, that won't work in your situation, you can select the top level of your folders and choose File > Export As Catalog. You can then transfer the exported catalog and import that catalog on the other computer, make changes and export it to then re-import at the other computer.

The second method is a bit more time consuming. If you really need to share on a regular basis and can make it work, I'd recommend the external hard drive route.

Also, when you have a second, you should fill out your signature (Quick Links > Edit Signature). It will help with troubleshooting on future questions.

But real-time, networked, multi-user type sharing is not possible. (Actually, it's just barely possible, but highly *not* recommended by Adobe.)
