Sharing a catalog between mac and windows: case sensitive issue

Hi I'm new in this forum, I hope you can help me :'(
So this is the situation: I've a huge catalog of raw files in a ntfs hard disk. I've installed lightroom in my new imac and setted catalog preference to use the preexisting catalog and files in ntfs hard disk. I've done like this to share the same files and adjustments in Windows and Mac computers. When I open lightroom in mac the catalog is opened fine but if I select the develop module an error message appears "the file is offline or missing". I've tried to reconnect the file and I noted that the problem is that Mac searches for *.jpg file while in ntfs hard disk are stored *.JPG file! What can I do?

Hi acumos! Welcome to the forums!

LR won't let you develop those because it needs to be able to write to the disk. Macs can't write to an NTFS drive. They can read an NTFS drive so that's why you can see what's there. If this disk is external I'd suggest that you back it up then change the format to FAT32 which can be read/written by both Mac and Windows. Then put your files back on the drive. That will solve your issue.

Alternatively you could try MacFUSE. See http://blogs.oreilly.com/digitalmedia/2''8/12/read-and-write-ntfs-hard-drive.html for some more details. This is still "experimental" so you take your chances with it.

Hmmm... I haven't heard of case sensitivity issues. Perhaps LR doesn't acknowledge macfuse? Sorry, I don't know. I haven't seen the issue with FAT32.
