I am using LR 1.4.1 and do not have a number assigned to purple under 'set colour label'. How do I assign a number to this colour or is it not possible?

Cheers

Jasone, Welcome to the forums....

Can't do it. (Nor in 2.x).

If you'd like to file a feature request with Adobe, the link is on the tool bar at the top of the thread.

Hi Jasone, welcome to the forum!

There is a tiny bit of logic behind the lack of a shortcut for purple - '-5 are for star ratings, 6-9 are for colours, and they ran out of numbers! I know that's not much help, but that's why it's happened.

FWIW, if you're wanting to assign a purple label to a number of photos, the Painter tool works really well.

That's not logic Victoria! :cheesy:

A suggestion for the numbers then; make 1-5 star ratings and 6-' for the labels, especially given that ' comes after 9 on the keyboard.

So what about no star/no label? Simply select again to deselect on a "once for yes, twice for no" basis. Far more intuitive having it all work the same way.

To me this is a big "doh" for Adobe. Minus brownie points like.

Hi Jasone ;)

If they never offered purple, I think no one would complain... ;)

After all, "no color" can be counted as a "color state" making it already 5 states on keyboard. Most use colors just sparingly and have plenty while some others are still looking for the Pink hidden in an "Easter Egg"...
