Serious response problems in 8.4

I am having several serious problems with Lightroom 8.4 which started a couple of days ago.
I have 23,848 photos in the cloud using 172.4GB of my 1Tb allocation.
My 2022 Mac Studio has an Apple M1 Max chip, 32 GB of memory running Sequoia 15.5.
My internet speed test show 907 Mbps down and 870 Mbps up.

These are my problems:

1 Very slow response when loading, refreshing and closing
2 Greyed out sliders etc. on Edit panel
3 Clicking Crop, Remove or Masking icons brings up the Edit panel!!
4 Never ending “Syncing items” (for a couple of days)
5 Sync Status on Info panel shows “Syncing metadata”
6 Info panel does not refresh (or is extremely slow) when changing image
7 Deleted albums reappear when Lightroom is restarted

A few days ago I cleared all the flags and star ratings for all my images. I wonder if this has caused the issues.
There seems to be a communication issue between Lightroom/my account and the Cloud. Perhaps it is just being extra slow.
I tried reinstalling Lightroom but it didn’t help.

Any suggestions?
 
Solution
Following the instructions for the "nuclear" option in "Lightroom® Edit on the Go" (y), I have now reset the local cache "Lightroom Library.lrlibrary" and after the initail re-downloading the problems seem to have gone away. There might still be some issues I haven't found yet but at the moment it's responsive and working as expected.

I'd start by trying a clean reinstall as that often solves issues that start after an update. It's a bit more fussy than a basic reinstall:

Clean Lightroom Install Procedure
Close Lightroom
Restart the computer
Use the Adobe Creative Cloud App to uninstall Lightroom
Restart the computer
Install Lightroom via the Creative Cloud App without launching any other programs.
Restart the computer
Launch Lightroom
Wait 5 minutes

Unfortunately, this didn't fix it. I posted a similar message on the Adobe Community forum and will submit a diagnostic log as requested by Rikk Flohr.
I'll report back here when I have a solution.
