Nikon Capture NX has a very powerfull tool with the control points where you can do the same edit operation in a selected area simmilar to what's possible for the whole picture.

AND NX is a metadata editor like LR so please don't tell us you need CS for this!

This is a much requested feature Sverre. Adobe have been concentrating on optimising the performance of LR which is no simple task given that LR is cross platform. There will be many features added. Patience.

I heard in a podcast from Adobe one of the attendees also wanted this feature. What about a version 2.' in the near future?

There are a lot of wants Sverre, we will have to wait until Adobe are ready, I think they will be on holiday now!!
Happy holidays to you too!!:cheesy::cheesy:

We need a smart method of selecting an area. Here I think Capture NX Control Point is brilliant and I hope Adobe can find a smart method for the same...

Yep, I am sure they can and will but they are on holiday today!! LOL
Happy Festivities!!

OK, then we have to wait a few weeks? :p

Happy Festivities!

Maybe a tad longer, but who knows? And if they think they do, they don't!

:)

I'm curious how easy/quickly control points are placed. Lightzone has this capability, but it was so slow that for most cases, it would be faster to just convert it and do the work in Photoshop.

I see Lightroom as more of a volume processor and I would hate to see it get bogged down with features that already exist in PS.
