Hi All,
Smart Collections allow you to implement dynamic collections based upon photo metadata and attributes. While not directly supported by the supplied conditional operators, it is possible to setup a Smart Collection to show all photos not in any static Collection.
To directly load the Smart Collection into your copy of LR2 download the Uncollected.txt attachment, rename it to Uncollected.lrsmcol, right click on a Smart Collection and select the Import Smart Collection Settings option, then import the file.
If you want to manually define the collection:
If you have any collections that only use symbols/consonants in the name you might need to add a few more criteria, but I doubt many people will have to resort to that step.
Kludgy, but it works.
Thanks,
Matt
PS It would be great if .lrsmcol could be added to the supported attachment type list for the forums.

If you want to manually define the collection:
- Create a new Smart Collection with whatever name you prefer
- Match "All" of the following rules
- Add the following 5 criteria, then save the new Smart Collection:
- "Collection" "doesn't contain" "a"
- "Collection" "doesn't contain" "e"
- "Collection" "doesn't contain" "i"
- "Collection" "doesn't contain" "o"
- "Collection" "doesn't contain" "u"
