When I am adding keywords, I cannot see the EXIF data. Opening the EXIF drop-down closes the keyword window. Is there a way to have both open at the same time?

Yes. You have "Solo Mode" activated (which means only one panel open at a time, open a new one and the old one closes). Deactivate "Solo Mode" and you can have as many panels open as you want (right click on any of the panel headers and uncheck Solo Mode).

Do you work in 'Solo' mode perhaps? That would explain this.
