Secondary display on single monitor?

Just out of curiosity, I wondered is there anybody who uses the secondary display on a single monitor? And if so, is that for any specific tasks?

I only have one monitor, but I can't find a reason to use the secondary window. Am I missing something?

I don't use it that way, but perhaps Live Loupe would be particularly useful.

I have my laptop as the second monitor on my right side presenting the pics in grid view while I am in the develop mode on the main screen. I find it quit useful and it speeds up my process when adjusting a lot of pics.

I think Dirk meant using both display windows on one monitor.

For me, that's exactly opposite of what I need. I'm using 3 19" monitors, and use the second monitor approach to gain a certain amount of usability because of the limited real estate on the single monitor. I have read of folks using the secondary window on the same screen as the primary, but they usually have *huge* single monitors.

I don't think you're missing anything, if your display is not large enough to permit a good main editing environment, along with room for another window to show grid if your main is in loupe, and loupe, if your main is in grid.

You are right of course, missed that. In that case I have nothing to add since I don't find it useful on my 19" monitor.

I know of certain people with lovely 3'" monitors who use it with 2 windows... but then, they're basically using their monitor like a dual screen setup without a line down the middle.
