Hi All

I'm a big fan and long-term user of @johnbeardy 's Search and Replace plugin.

My main use case is to populate location data in Keywords / ~IPTC Location, and then use the Keywords > IPTC facility to copy those details to the Sublocation/ City / State/ Country fields.

Just updated from version 1.7 to version 2.0.0.0, and I can no longer see the Location / Keywords tab.

Am I doing something wrong, or has that facility been removed, please?

Many thanks

Rob

Still there, just integrated with the Workflow Filters functions.

Setup (eg top level keyword) is in Plugin Manager, and you can run it from the Transfer tab or include it in the Workflow Filters command (check box in Plugin Manager). I use Country etc -> Keywords myself and find this is the best way. The new Quick Access URLs mean that I just hit Cmd F9 (or whatever you want) and those keywords are populated.

If there's enough interest (there probably is) I can make copying to the IPTC Extension Shown more automatic and launched from a keyboard shortcut.

I know I've covered a lot of detail in the above comments. Hopefully they're enough to get you moving.

Thanks, John. This worked for me once I set the Transfer as Location > Location.

I'd be interested, please :)

Very helpful reply, thanks again.

You shouldn't need to do that. Just set the Workflow Filters to the option you want (Country etc to Keywords) and then press process.

In general, I'm trying to encourage folk to use the Refresh Workflow Filters command, which populates fields which you can use in the Library Filter. I find this so handy when entering metadata. But it then makes sense to make it the first bit of a chain which might include Locations to Keywords, Locations to Location Shown etc. I would just hit Cmd F9 and all this would be recalculated. So expect a 2.1 next month.

Rob, and others

I have decided to restore the location tab or something similar. A few questions similar to yours seem a good indication that many more people haven't been able to figure this out - and it's not their fault! So expect a 2.1 in the next few days.

Have you noticed how you can now use the Refresh Workflow Filters command to copy locations to keywords and to the location created/shown, so it's all done in a single step? See http://lightroomsolutions.com/search-and-replace-2-1/ for more about this.
That all looks really good, John - I shall update my installation in a minute.

Is there any chance of a Syncomatic update with keyboard shortcut support (or is it already there, and I've missed it)?

I'll consider something so that you can run the main operation with existing settings but without opening the dialog box. No promises though.
