SB Sutherland's Mapi Mailer suddenly stops working?

Has anyone else encountered the problem of Mapi Mailer suddenly not working. I have used it with no problems on two different computers for months and they both suddenly stopped working. Lightroom behaves as it always has but my Thunderbird won't open and the files just seem to disappear (they aren't in the temp folder either). I am using Lightroom 2.2, Windows XP, and the latest version of Thunderbird. I even looked in the Application Data folder and reinstalled the program to ensure everything was where it should be. Any ideas on how to fix this? I desperately miss this little program and use it constantly.

After reading your post, I tried it on my system and it's the same. Mapimailer doesn't find the default mail client. On my system it's also Thunderbird and I checked the system settings, if Thunderbird is the default mail client and it is.

I had guessed it's a issue with windows 7 on my system, but you seem to have the same issue on XP.

I investigated a little bit more.

On my system the Send To../email explorer extension is also broken and I get the same error message. Now I'm not sure, what the problem is. Is it the one of the last updates of thunderbird or something else?

I found a solution for this problem:

After setting the following entry in the registry it is working like before:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\Mozilla Thunderbird
In the empty key DLLPath set
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\mozMapi32_InUse.dll

You have to change the path to Thunderbird according to your system

After that the explorer "Send to" and MapiMailer is working again.
