A couple of quick questions.

1 - Is there an easy way to create XMP Sidecars for an entire catalog? I usually save them as I go but sometimes I forget and don't know which I have and which I haven't.

2 - Is there any way to lock the panels? I am constantly closing the panels accidentally.

Thanks,

Evan

Go to 'All Photos' in the Library; make sure you don't have any filters active; hit Ctrl-s (Cmd-s on Mac). That should generate new .xmp files for all raw images that either don't have them or for which there have been any changes since they were created.

Right click on the small triangle that's used to open and close the right and left panels to get more options.

Good luck,

Thanks! That was what I was looking for.

I changed them to manual but it still seems to behave more or less the same. What is the difference?

Manual panel exposure requires a click, the two 'auto' selections require only a hover/touch. If your problem is accidently clicking in the activation zone, this won't help.

Don't give me a straight line like that! :) (Don't click there!)

I don't think so. I keep it on manual, and either deliberately click on it, use the tab key, or the F5-F8 keys. And like you, accidently click on it once in a while anyway.
