right click does not work anymore on filmstrip panel

In Lightroom I once in a while experiance a strange behaviour after a while of flagging and rating pictures in the filmstrip panel. After a while, I can't right click on a picture in the filmstrip panel anymore, meaning the menu window won't open anymore. The only option then is, to open up another catalog, close it and open the catalog I was working on again.

I usually use the filmstrip panel for flagging and rating pictures. I usually do the flagging of pictures by using the right mouseclick and then twice type F (for the menü set flag -> flagged) and afterwards rate the same picture by using right mouseclick again and then type T plus a number for the rating. After a while the right click on any picture doesn't work anymore. The usual menu-window doesn't open anymore. Besides that, some other functionality doesn't work anymore as well within lightroom. Seems I got into some sort of another mode within lightroom ? Again, the only option is to go into another catalog, close it and open the catalog I was working on again. But this is a very time consuming step.

Hi Urs, welcome to the forum!

Initial thought - I'd try to narrow down whether it's a problem specific to that catalog, or to all catalogs. First port of call would be to try moving or deleting the preferences file. If that doesn't solve it, I'd try working in a fresh catalog for a while to see if that prevents the problem.
