When I read a specific thread that has multiple entries I'm always taken to the first entry in the thread. This is regardless of the fact that I may have already read the first 20 entries. Is it possible to return to the place I left off in a thread the next time I visit the thread? All this whilst logged in of course. This is more an issue on my phone than on PC.

Thanks
Steve

Odd. Does it happen on all threads? I've seen it on a couple of threads lately, where there were lots of images, but most are working as expected.

If you click/tap the Jump to New button just above the first thread, does that take you to the right spot?

Hi Victoria, here's a couple of examples of longer threads where I'm always taken to the first post in the thread regardless of whether I've read the whole thread or not.

Neither of these currently has the "Jump to New" button presumably because there are no new entries. If I log out and log in again and click on these threads I'm always taken to the first post. I've tried both Chrome and the latest Microsoft Edge browsers on Windows 10.

After some testing on longer threads I found an example where I am taken to the end of the thread. This thread is longer than the two above and rolls over to a second page.

This ones a slightly shorter thread (currently 12 posts) and I'm always taken to the first post in the thread even though I've read all of it.

So it doesn't seem to be consistent.

That's what I'd expect to happen if there are no unread posts in a thread. If there are unread posts, clicking on the thread title should take you to the oldest unread post. If you want to go to the last post in a thread, read or unread, clicking on the timestamp above the name of the last poster should do that.

FWIW, my default starting point is always the "What's New" or "New Posts" listing....that way I'm only viewing threads which contain unread posts.

It doesn't know whether you've read the whole thread (e.g. you only scrolled part way), it'll only consider posts new if they're posted since you last viewed that thread. Perhaps that's it.
