So, i have pictures flagged, then i make my changes.... then edit in photoshop.... when i close and save the photo in CS4.... i realized it goes BACK to LIGHTROOM and makes a copy. but it's NOT flagged! now i wanna review or make further adjustments to the photo.... its SO hard to find.... because i filter by flags.... so have to unflag.... then search.... search... search... through the thousands of pictures!

any ideas on this? I'd really rather that photoshop just SAVE OVER the original lightroom image... or put it flagged, RIGHT NEXT to the image....

please recommend some suggestions.

Hmmm, when I edit in CS3 from within LR, the resulting image that comes back into LR one I have saved it in CS3 sits right next to the original file and I see it clearly in my Library view.

Are you looking at the folder in Library, or the 'latest import'...? You need to be looking in the folder to see where the edited file has come back into LR and not the 'latest import' folder.

I expect alenknight is either sorting or filtering by 'Pick' status. Since the returned image is not 'picked', it ends up far away in the sort order or is filtered out. He/she could revert to Capture Time sort, which would put the returned image side by side, as you suggest, but at the cost of losing his/her original workflow order.

I'm sure there's an ingenious work around somewhere; I'm interested in what it might be.

Open ears here too!!
Feature request time............

I am sorting or filtering by 'Pick' status as well... upon returning from an external edit (I use Viveza & CS4 a lot) the TIFF is stacked beside the original RAW file and has the same Pick status as the original... "Edit a copy with LR Adjustments" and check the "Stack with original" box... Even if I sort by Capture Time, the TIFF stacks beside the original.
