Hi everyone,
I would like some advice please. I have a new computer with LR6 installed on it. I then have a full backup of my old photo computer(long gone) on an external hard drive. I used Acronis True Image for the backup. I downloaded and installed the 30 day trial of ATI 17 so I could open the .tib files. I'm not clear on the correct procedures to open the files and get them over to the new computer and into LR6. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,

What do you mean by LR6? Thanks to Adobe's product naming shenanigans, this could be one of two programs. So go to Help > System Info and copy the first line of the dialog box.

With Acronis, you generally open the tib files and use its recover commands. But I assume you know how to use Acronis.

I use Acronis and one of my two system backups on my iMac. I agree with John, It should be as simple as using the Recovery command.

Assuming the Windows version menu is the same as my Mac Version, there are two recovery option submenu items "Recover Disc or Windows(?)" (Mine says "Recover Disc or Mac") and "Recover Files from Existing Backup" . The first option is to access a recovery disc if you made one, the second option will let you pull individual files or folders of files from the Backup file.

Sorry, I was referring to Lightroom 6.

That is still not clear. The obsolete version of Lightroom came up to version 6 before it was replaced by Lightroom Classic. In the meantime, Adobe Adopted the name Lightroom for the cloud based product much to the confusion of any reasonable product discussion. The Cloud version of Lightroom is currently version 6.x Hence the confusion.

We'll do our best to help, but please do this. Paste the exact LR version number here.

Lightroom 6.14

OK with certainty, you have the Legacy version of what is now called Lightroom Classic. Lightroom Classic is now at version 12.x. So you can see how far out of date you app is. Not very many people are still using LR6.14. So we don’t get many questions about that product. My recommendations about restoring using Acronis still are valid.

Thank you for the info and recommendations. Yes, I may be among the few who still prefers a non-subscription Lightroom, for better or for worse. So, for the forseeable future, onward through the fog...
