Resetting Starting Number on Import

Is there a way to make LR reset the numbering sequence to 1 (or, perhaps, an arbitrary value) when the value of the day changes on imported records? I name and store my imported images in yyyy/yyyymm/yyyymmdd_nnnn order, and would like each new yyyymmdd to start with '''1. The only way I can accomplish this now is by importing only a single day's images at a time. Often I have a CF card with images shot on multiple days.

Obviously, this is all wound up in the general issue of import image naming, organization, and numbering, but for now, I'd really be happy to have sequence numbers reset automatically for multi-date imports -- of course I might trade that for being to automatically generate the month (yyyymm) folder so I don't have to do that manually. I'm thinking seriously about reverting to iMatch or ImageIngestor for my downloading and renaming process. Ugh.

It's a good idea, and one I can't think of a solution for right now.

My alternative is to use a similar naming system, but a timestamp (hhmmss) rather than number (nnnn).

Something like ImageIngestor or DownloaderPro would probably been a good option as you have such specific naming requirements.
