This is a rephrasing of an earlier post that got to responses; thought I should try it again.

When importing in date order multiple days' worth of shooting (from card(s) or folder(s)), the import dialog provides a nice summary of each date and the number of photos for that date to be imported. By checking/un-checking individual dates, you can cause one, multiple, or all dates' photos to be imported. However, if your naming scheme includes a Sequence#, there seems to be no mechanism for resetting that number (e.g., to 1) for each date group of images. This is a pain if you have many photos spread over several dates, since you cannot just start the import and go do something else; you have to import each date separately if you want to have each start with 1.

Is there any work-around (or feature I've just missed).

Import after each shoot and do not count on your camera's mem cards to keep your images safe.

Easier said than done when you're in the bush in Africa or at a remote village in Afghanistan -- or just busy. But, fair enough; point made.

Sorry, I was on a rush. I very well understand your position and first tought about a similar situation like if you were on vacation. There are some pocket backup devices that can save you troubles. Tough, I understand that your seq# problem stay unsolved at the moment.

The only thing I can offer you at the moment is to fill a "Feature Request" with Adobe. The more asking, the more the chances of implementation.
