Hello everybody,

I understand that monitors should be recalibrated regularly, and also that most photographers don't do that! But if I replace the graphics card in my computer does that mean I should recalibrate the monitor right away or does it make no difference?

The color profile used for a specific monitor is valid for only that monitor. The generic sRGB color profile is not monitor specific but should be avoided for that reason since it does not tune the monitor to the specific monitor characteristics. Monitor calibration is adviced for every use where accurate color rendition is a requirement.
