When you call the Libary / Previews / Render Standard Size Previews menu command... does it apply it to the entire library or only the folders you've selected?

Thanks!

I'll double check this when I get back to my main LR machine, but I believe it does all selected images, or if you don't have any selected, it does all the images in the current view (whether that's a folder view, collection, etc).

Yep, that's confirmed. In Grid mode, if you have ' or 1 selected, it'll do all of the images in the current view. 2 more selected will just do the selected images.

sweet. so i can do it one year at a time. will be interesting to see if this improves the performance.

Hi Joshua, I just did all the photos in my (home) collection (>15,''' pics). I've just installed a new computer and consolidated a whole bunch of pics that had been previously keyworded in various LR configs (and probably Bridge). Wondered why LR was so sluggish then figured it was the rendering.

I selected all photos and just let it run overnight. It's made a huge difference. I'm thinking of doing 1:1 previews now as I've got a heap of editing to do going over the whole collection. Will probably do some more culling first though.

BTW - my first post and want to thank everyone for this forum. It's excellent.

Where are you based?
Hi Kiwigeoff, yep, I'm a near neighbour :cheesy: Just across the way in north-eastern Victoria, up in the snow country (nestled under Mount Bogong).

And a belated thanks to all for your warm welcome.
