Renaming Files - to _

I like to rename my files with the date then_sequence. The preset only has custom name-sequence so I put the date in as the custom namethen_ but then it gives - in front of the sequence number and I want_ or nothing.

Also I'm getting the error message today when I go to rename anyfile "The file named "IMG_''44.CR2" could not be renamed." If I click on the file it can find the file in the explorer (it's on a connected hard drive) but won't let me rename it????

You can build your own naming templates. At the bottom of the list is "Edit..." Pick that, and it'll bring up the Filename Template Editor.

Once you've built the template the way you want it to be, look to the bottom of the Preset pulldown at the top of the template editor dialog box, and choose to either save your new template with a new name, or update one of the existing templates.

For your second problem, make sure that no other program is accessing the file at same time than Lightroom. Even if you close that other program (explorer?) locks may still be put in place and not being released until you close your session (logout/login)...
