Renamed folder outside LR and lost all the changes

I renamed the folder "Pic - Mar 2'1'" to "Pic - March 2'1'" that was within a Picture folder outside Lightroom. When I came back to Lightroom, I accidentally synchronized the Picture folder. Now, I lost all the changes that I worked on my pictures (by the time I realized I was supposed to rename in the LR, it was too late). Is there any way to retrieve the changes? I don't want to redo about 4' hours of work again. Please help me!

If you re-sync the folder that contains "Pic - March 2'1'" all your photos should be re-imported. Am I missing something, or are you? (or both?)

You're missing something Rob. The pictures themselves aren't the problem - the settings are, and they won't come with with synchronize.

clitumnus, welcome to the forum! Do you have any catalog backups which might contain those settings? If you do, we should be able to merge them back in.

This is a very good reason to always have your edits saved in xmp! (Or, am I still missing something?) Assuming I'm not missing something anymore, I strongly recommend either checking the box that says "Always save edits in xmp" or something like that in the Lightroom preferences, or manually save them for example using ctrl-s(win) or cmd-s(mac).
