I might be making this difficult, however, is it possible to rename a Lightroom Catalog? I misspelled a clients name and I would like to correct it if possible.

To help us help you could you please take a moment to fill in your signature in the "userCP' that is found at the top left of the page - thanks.
To answer your question just rename the .lrcat file and previews.lrdata files with the same name. Where they are will depend on where you put them or if you let LR do it they will be in your "pictures folder".
Make sure you name them the same and then double click the .lrcat file and LR will open with the catalog.
They should end up like this example of mine:
LR2.1 Ballooning Previews.lrdata
LR2.1 Ballooning.lrcat

In my catalogs folder, and the one that I want to change named General, there is only one file named General and then a sub-folder named General Previews.lrdata.

Yes, that's right Chris. Geoff's used to the Mac version, where the previews is a special kind of folder that looks like a file, but the same principle applies on Windows where you rename the subfolder.
Top level folder can be called whatever you like.

Victoria is right but if you want to rename the top level folder, do so from within Lightroom.

Denis, I think Chris meant that his catalog file and previews folder are alone in a folder called General, and wondered about renaming that folder too, in which case, renaming won't cause a problem as the images are unaffected.
