I have a new computer which is only going to have photography-related programs and files. I want to remove LR and all the photo files and programs from the old computer but am afraid the new one will be affected too. I do not like, nor understand the Sync process between computers. And don't trust it.

Both computers are on a LAN. This might make a difference.

What do I need to do, step by step?

It shouldn't be too hard.

I have already moved LR and files to new computer which is what the article you suggested addressed.

I want to remove LR and pictures from the old one.

On the old computer, log out of Creative Cloud, uninstall Lightroom, and delete all your photographs and the directory that contains your Lightroom catalogue. It all works just like you would imagine it would.
