Removing Keywords from a keyword set but not from images

I have somehow got a lot of keywords which have inadvertantly been placed into the wrong keyword set.

Can someone tell me how to remove the keywords from the set but not from the images which they are associated with?

all the keywords within the 'family'set need removing from the family set but not from the images

Hi, welcome to Lightroom Forums!

What you are proposing is as simple as drag-and-drop.
Say you have a parent keyword 'Birds' it simple just to L-click on the the keyword 'GoldFinch' and literally drag it onto the keyword 'Birds' and voila, you are done.
