Removing duplicate JPGs

I've noticed that Lightroom will group the RAW/DNG with the JPG. I have already converted the RAWs to DNG, and installed the DNG codec for my computer. I no longer have any use for the JPGs associated with them. Is there any way to remove duplicate JPGs?

Hi there, to help us help you could you please take a moment to fill in your signature with information similar to what I have, in the "userCP' that is found at the top left of the page - thanks.It will depend on your version of LR but you can filter by file type or file extension and sort by the same criteria.
This will enable you to then select all the jpegs and delete - make sure that stacks are unstacked first though.
All of these answers can be found in the online help/manual as well - it is worth a look.

I understand what you mean about filtering by file type. However, my situation is not so easy. Some of my files are DNG+JPG, and some are only JPG. I do not want to lose the JPGs that are not also DNGs. Is it possible to filter DNG+JPG and only remove those JPGs?

Sure, I would perhaps the create a collection with the pairs which could be done from the initial filtering and then in the collection filter again for the jpegs , select the jpegs, move them to a new folder an delete from there. Moving to another folder before deleting will give you the option to recheck.
Or you could give the dng/jpeg pairs a colour label and delete from a filtered view.
No easy way I can think of though!

Ahh.. not sure what happened, but it seems like all of the JPGs attached to the DNGs have disappeared from lightroom b4 I got a chance to try this. But, they're still on the disk. I'm gonna try to import them all again and try your method to clean up my hard disk. Thanks for everything Geoff!
