reinstalling lr 5 to new computer

i have a copy of lr 5 (licensed) and installed it to a new laptop, cannot update to 5.7 and 5.0 will not read my raw NEF images. Any idea on how to update my version 5 to 5,7

I would suggest contact Adobe, but be aware Lightroom 5 hasn't been supported for 6 years now, they may not be able to assist.

You might try again. Adobe no longer has a public link for legacy apps like LR6 and LR5. I know that they will provide a private link for LR6.14. Perhaps they offer this as well for LR.5.7. Specifically ask for a private download link for LR5.7 and provide them with your license key. I would try via phone and chat.

Failing that you can down load the free DNG converter to convert your NEFs to RAW DNGs which can import into you LR5.0.

But really, isn't it time you considered the Photography Plan (20GB) to upgrade your editing capability. Much has improved over six years in the many upgrades to be now at Version 10.4 (Now called Lightroom-Classic) $9.99 PHOTOGRAPHY PLAN (USA)
