I need to re-install the system software in my Macbook Pro. Needs to be a clean install due to problems I've encountered. I've spent a lot of time starring favorites, family, etc. How can I not lose the work I've done. Won't they disappear when I delete Lightroom and reinstall it?
I'm using Lightroom 2.5 and Snow Leopard operating system. Any help would be appreciated.

I assume you have plans to save and reinstall the image files from a backup. You also need a backup of your .lrcat catalog file. It is this file that will contain all your filter setting, flags and other metadata associated with each image. Perhaps some Mac person can direct you to the location of this file.
As long as you maintain the same image folder structure on the new install as you had before your system software reinstall, the light room catalog should be happy. If you do manage to confuse the LR catalog about the location of your reinstalled image files, you still have all the metadata about those files and need only to point the LR catalog to the new location.
