I tried creating my first web gallery through Lightroom. I planned on using the web gallery for clients to preview proofs so I tested it by putting it into a subfolder. When I preview the gallery using the preview gallery button in Lightroom it looks fine in the browser. When I export the files to my hard drive and view the index.html file, everything looks fine. However, when I upload it to my website I get red x's in place of the images. I use Go Daddy for hosting. Does anyone have any ideas why this happens? I did try putting the files in the main folder but the same thing happens. I uploaded the files through Lightroom's ftp and when that didn't work I did it manually but it still doesn't work.

Also, I'm viewing it in IE7.

Thanks!

It may be a conflict with the images being in a folder called /bin. I don't know the answer to fixing it though. Someone else may.

Meanwhile, welcome to the forum and please fill out your Signature with System, OS, version of LR used and Camera equipment, for future reference.

Hi Kari! Welcome to the forums!

Your index file is in a subfolder called rex. The references to the missing images point to "content/bin/images/thumbs" so your index is at ROOT/REX and your images are at ROOT/CONTENT... Your index is looking for images at ROOT/REX/CONTENT...

Let LR upload the Web site to your REX subdirectory and it should make the necessary adjustments to the links. If you export it to your drive and then upload it to a subdirectory you get this issue since LR exported it to your drive thinking ROOT not subdirectory. Hope that helps!

Thanks for your responses! I just uploaded the files using LR with a subfolder called 'rex'. It looks like it created a folder called 'rex' in the root directory and 'rex' has the index.html file and the 'content' and 'resources' folders. It still doesn't work though??

Hmmm.

I just uploaded a simple gallery like the one you are working with (http://lightroomsecrets.com/testweb/index.html) and don't have any issues.

I looked at the coding on mine vs yours and all looks the same. Double check to see if the image files actually got uploaded to the server. If they aren't really there then you'd get the missing icon.

After checking to make sure my images were uploaded (they were) I checked into Don's suggestion that the problem is the 'bin' folder and that seems to be it. It's because of the hosting I have (Windows). I'm still searching for a way to fix this so if anyone has a fix I would greatly appreciate the help! This is the link I found on the subject but the link to fix the problem no longer works:

Thanks again,
