Ok so, this is not the first time it happens, and its been like this for more than a year so it's not an issue of the last version, it happens on this PC and also on my 2 PCs at home. The folder in Pc with, in this case, 2 files, Lightroom shows 6 files, and it shows 6 files because I ask for synchronized folder and each time I do that Lr adds another thumbnail of the file.
I already purge the cache, restart and the result is the same

I have seen this reported a few times, and I don’t think that anyone has the definite answer. It seems to be some kind of catalog corruption. One thing puzzles me a bit: why do you use ‘Synchronize Folder’ in the first place?

Used synchronize only to see if it continues to do the same thing or it recognize the real number of files.
I usually do clear this error by removing all files and ask for synchronizing again or ask to import. But after removing the files and synchronize again, LR doesn't repeat the error and adds only the real number of photos inside the folder.
But for me its a waste of time since I use Lightroom for my daily work.

Seems like that will be the thing to do then. Sorry that I can’t offer a more permanent solution.
