Unread post weirdness

Ok, so what's the trick.....

If I search on unread posts using the global link at the top of the page, it only shows unread posts since the last visit, so if I've closed my browser and then try unread posts, they all disappear.

The Unread Posts link on each group of forums does the same.

The workaround is to go to each forum and go looking for the little New badge.

So, question is, is there a way to find ALL unread posts?

Ok, now I'm answering my own questions! This link'll do the trick: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/community/index.php?action=unread;all;start='

And apparently, if you click the normal 'show unread posts since last visit' link, there's also a link on the lower right which will take you to all unread posts.

I'll leave this thread up for the time being in case anyone else has the same problem!

Ian, is there a way to put a button or link right up front for this? Seems like a long way around to get to the unread posts. Thanks!

I've just put a bookmark button on my Firefox bookmarks toolbar.

I've just fallen in love with this forum software! There's a 'mark unread' button on the toolbar, so if I read a post but don't have time to answer there and then, I can check back later. Love it!

I'm not sure I understand the differences that we are talking about here. I don't see two different lists of unread Posts. For example, there are currently 6 unread Posts for me. If I leave the Site and come back, there will still be 6 unread Posts no matter what link I click so see unread Posts.

What am I missing?

Close your browser and then try it Ian. Or log out and log in again.

I did close my browser and all was well. Let me log out and log in...

Grrrrrrrr It doesn't work like that here! Maybe it's a cookie difference or something... although, it remembers and keeps me logged in, so it shouldn't be.

What browser?

Safari 4.'.1.

Logged out and closed browser... came back and logged in. Still see the same messages waiting for me to read when I click on Show unread posts since last visit. :-\
Same as Ian using Camino 1.6.8.

I'm not seeing any weirdness in Opera/Windows XP.
Hey! I am just back from the office (Windows Explorer 7) and now, at home, I am experiencing the same as Victoria (Mac OS 1'.5.7 Firefox 3). I just see what was added since I quit the office. >:D

At least it's not just me!!!!

Will report tomorrow from the office when back to Windows / Explorer7. I hope I will see what is not shown home as I hate skipping posts.

Use the link further up this thread to see the rest of them Denis.
This is the first thing I tried before sending the above complaint. No luck! :'(

I take it back, I misunderstood the problem I think.

Logon, see several 'new/unread' posts. Close browser (Opera), reopen browser and forums, only one new-new post appears.

So I guess I have the problem as well.

I have fixed the link to now show all unread posts. No more clicking and clicking again to see all unread. Enjoy.
