Sanity Check

I need a sanity check. My tiff file in Lightroom does not reflect the develop settings I made when viewed in bridge. I believe tiff files embed the develop data in the file. Yes, "catalog settings>metadata>Include develop settings in metadata inside tiff, jpg, & psd files" is checked.

Am I missing somthing??

Do you have write to XMP set to Auto ? If not then you have to manually write the changes out by using ctrl S while having the images selected in Grid View.

I do but it makes no difference. Raw works fine but not tiff???

I've tested it here and it seems to work fine.

I think I may have the answer... if the image contains layers then the LR adjustments do not show up in Bridge !

That is interesting. It does contain layers. Are you sure with layers it does not show LR Adjustments?

I tried file with no layers ( tiff ) and it still does not show LR adjustments?????

Mine definitely worked without layers. I reduced the saturation to zero and Bridge showed the image as B&W as I expected. It didn't show as B&W with a text layer added to it. It did show the text though.

This may be a platform dependent issue as I know LR on Mac can use PSD's for the LR identity plate but Windows can't, so there may be something else going on under the covers between the two systems.

What do you have set for ACR settings for Bridge? I can't remember off the top of my head where to find them, but there's an option to always open tiff/jpeg files in ACR or not, which may have a bearing on this.

HI Victoria. I have them set to not open jpg and tiff in raw. But I tried it both ways and has no effect on the files in bridge. John Beardy tells me the develop adjustments in LR will not show up in tiff files in bridge.
