Re-finding lots of "lost" picture folders

Have copied/pasted a lot (2''+) of folders from one drive to another. Could not see how to do this from within Lightroom (would have been better I suppose) so used explorer. However, I would hate to have to right-click all the folders one-by-one to have Lightroom redicover their new placement. Any way to either:

1) mass-re-direct all the folders to their new position (so LR chages the folder placement from d:\ to e:\
or
2) move lots of directories from within LR from one disk to another (I would of course first have to copy them back again with explorer first)

Yes to both... so a couple more questions for you:

1. Are the images still in their original location too? Or would it be easy to copy them back there? That'd be the quickest option.

2. Are the folders in a single long list, or in some kind of hierarchy in your folders panel?

1) Its easy for me to get the pictures files back again if needed. I would just "unerase" all the relevant moved folders to get them back on the original disk.

2) Almost all the folders are in one large sub-folder on the drive (both before and after I moved them)

At least I always try to leave a back door open when I start making large changes... :icon_biggrin:

OK. Do your "unerase" first and do not remove you already moved ones. Then in Lightroom, make sure you see the parent folder of them all. If you don't, just right-click a folder and "Add parent folder". Onco you see the parent folder, right-click on it and choose "Update folder location" and navigate to the same folder on the E: drive. All subfolders should get updated to their new location.

You can rename that main folder on the original D: drive to be convinced all is well with no question marks. If so, then you may delete the ones on D:.
