I just watched Julianne Kost's video on the Adobe site on the Develop module, in particular, the section about retouching a portrait.
So far in my own Lr adventure, I have used the program to organize my photos and do general development of the RAWs, make terrific web sites thanks to all the generous wizards in the community, taken advantage of some of Matt K's presets, and generally had a ball playing around with the thing. Photoshop has been where I did the work - the fine details, the work that makes a photo the best it can be.
This new local correction panel is astounding, especially in the advanced panel. It is truly remarkable.
Congrats to the Lr crew! It just gets better and better.
