Ram use and Lightroom

I have 4 gig of ram (approx 2.' in cache) with a dual core processor running 64bit Lightroom 2.6, 64 bit Elements 8 on 64 bit Vista Home Premium. When I view performance in the task manager the highest physical memory use is about 2.3 gig. Does anyone get higher usage than this?

It may depend on the operations at hand. But I really think you are talking 4 Gig and not 4 Meg!
