Hello

I'm a newbie to lightroom, I'm running 2.1 version. Not changed anything in preferences.
My problem is when I load my images onto my pc they look very nice, vibrant colours and good brightness. I then tell lightoom to add them to a new catalog the images start to appear still looking nice then lightroom start to change the tone of them one by one, images look dark and lose of colour.

I have checked preferences and I dont have applu auto tone selected.
Is it just the default lightroom settings causing this??

any advice would be good, I've search around the forum a little and cant see a solution to this. maybe I need to change lightrooms default develop settings to match my camera.

Thanks Matt

Hi Matt,
You are not alone with this query.
Keep in mind LR has processing engine for raw data as does your camera and they are different. They are both adjustable, in camera settings for the view you see on your camera and development settings in LR which can be applied anytime. Most use LR to apply their own standard set upon import using a preset.
However read this thread:http://www.lightroomqueen.com/community/showthread.php?t=15''
Hopefully you will be on your way !!
Welcome aboard as well:lol:

Welcome from me too Matt! Two day ago, Adobe released Lightroom 2.2 with new camera profiles. Those (Adobe Standard) shall fit your expectations better...

Actually, I think Matt, as a Nikon shooter, will probably prefer one of the "camera" profiles.

Matt, Camera Standard would be a good starting point, but you should update to 2.2 and experiment with them to see which one you like best.

I find the Adobe Standard suits me very well Mark !!!:lol:;)
