Quick develope question

Hi , I'm just starting, just got my copy from the store last week.
Very nice program , I watched a view tutorials but they were for version 1.'
I have the latest, and in Quick Develop after adjusting the exposure etc.
I heard that clicking the word should turn the value back to ', however how come mine doesn't want to do this , it stays at the value that I choose , peculiar... PLease help out , thanks will be back with more question s

Are you Mac or PC? Filling in your signature as I have will save asking this.
Hold the Option/Alt key while you hover over a setting such as tone will enable "reset" in the Develop module where numbers are visible. I don't think there is any way to do this in Quick Develop except with CMD-Z immediately after an action.

Just to elaborate a little on Geoff's already correct reply.

In Quick Develop (QD) panel there is a "Reset All" button. Which I believe is the only reset function available there. Note that holding down Alt/Opt in QD switches the bottom two sliders to satuation and sharpening from clarity and Vibrance.

In the Develop Module, Alt/Opt pops up a reset button for each panel. In addition, a double click on a given parameter 'word', e.g. Exposure, will reset the individual parameter within the panel.

I run Windows XP ,

Sorry to forgot to mention, I have a "Flag" windows icon , but that didnt work
when I press left ALT "Clarity" becomes "Sharpening" and Vibrance becomes Saturation...

Can't get the value to reset yet though, not the individual value

please advise

That is because it is not there is Quick Develop. only a global reset. You have to go to the Develop Module for individual resets. You can reset values set in QD by going to the Develop Module and doing them there by clicking on the cenet diamond of each slider you want to reset.

Are you using Version 1.3.1. THis seems to be a bug in that Version and possibly 1.3, on my Mac. I will report this.

LR help says:

As you try out different adjustments in the Quick Develop panel, you can reset them individually by clicking their names. For example, click Exposure to reset the photo to its original exposure.

So that is apparently the intended behavior. Seems to me one could do that at one time.

Michael was using LR v1.' in the tutorial. This has changed since then. You would notice that the names for the adjustments such as "Exposure" in QD are now on the left side not in the middle of the arrow buttons.
You could submit this as a feature request.

I just got confirmation that this is a Known Bug at Adobe, so hopefully it will be rectified with the next release. The Tutorial and the Help Listing is how it is supposed to work.
