Ok, I'm not at my computer that has LR but my girlfriend has called me asking for my help (I know, I know...I've alerted the media to this rarity...).
She is printing 6 images on one sheet (via a template) from within LR's Print module and she is finding the images have noticeably more magenta in them then when in CS2 where she did all her color correction.
She is using a Canon Pixma Pro 9''' and I believe she selected the print to be managed by the printer (again this is a brand new area to me so I apologize for probably mangling some of the terminology here).
I believe this is her process:
1. Color correct jpgs in CS2 (I believe color space is aRGB).
2. Import those jpg images into LR where she uses a template in the Print module to build her 6 image page that she thens prints out through her Pixma Pro 9'''.
She says the images look more magenta both on screen and in print then how they looked when she color corrected in CS2.
I understand the native color space of LR is called "melissa" (which is close to ProPhoto space).
But as I understand it you can't change the color space in LR for viewing, rather you can select the color space (sRGB, aRGB or ProPhoto) only upon exporting the image file.
But when printing from within LR you aren't exporting are you?
Is LR's native color space ('melissa') conflicting with the color space that the images were color corrected in (aRGB).
Again, sorry I don't have LR in front to test out and I haven't progressed to the point of using that module yet.
Any ideas how get what she sees as "perfect" in CS2 to look the same and print the same from within LR?
She's using LR v 1.3 and 6 month old Apple desktop (not leopard) with the Cinema 22 inch cinema display. She does not have color calibration equipment. She's 5'6" with brown hair. What other info. is needed??
