It's on our to-do list to update, but the information is still essentially accurate. We've just got to add the extra info about the updated GPU settings, but from a quick skim, the info is still correct.

Perfect, thank you

Got it thanks for the heads-up! Just to double-check: aside from the updated GPU settings, is there anything else planned for revision, or is the core workflow and guidance still fully valid as-is? Asking in case others (myself included) are relying on it for current setups.

The information is still mostly correct - only the GPU stuff has made notable additions. The "Use Smart Previews instead of Originals for Image Editing" preference is no longer recommended if you're using the AI features, particularly Generative Remove, as they'd use the lower resolution data unless you've zoomed in (that change was in the 14.4 release notes).

I'm currently working on the book chapter, and it's a big rewrite, but primarily to slim it down a bit, as there's now enough caching done automatically that you don't need to be an expert on things like the Camera Raw Cache to make it run well now. A decent GPU has solved a lot of the issues we were working around with the performance advice, although the obvious hardware/operating system stuff still holds.

Is there anything specific you have in mind? We will get to republish the blog posts, but they'll likely be later in the year.
