PS CS3 messed up LR 2.6 color profile

fore some reason PS asked me at startup to choose a color profile,
i don't remember the exact message but it was something like "something wrong with the monitor's generic profile, do you want to use some other prompted profile?"
when i used the prompted profile (i could un-check the "don't ask again" box) the whites turned to bright yellow,
when i use the generic monitor profile it was ok,

UNTIL i opened LR and saw that all the white in all the photos and even in the histogram turned bright yellow...

i tried to change the PS color profiles but it had no effect on LR, and i could not find ant color profile manager in LR

is there a way to fix it and make the white, white again?

Hi ilya, welcome to the forum!

The problem you're seeing is an incorrect or corrupted monitor profile. How do you calibrate your monitor? You need to recalibrate it using a hardware calibration too.

If you can't, you can use sRGB, but it's only a temporary fix. Here's the instructions: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/blog/2''8/12/28/corrupted-monitor-profile/ - the Vista ones should work for W7 too, I think.

i calibrated it using only the windows 7 software calibration, and everything except LR looks fine
also, until PS asked me this thing about the profiles, the colors were fine everywhere...

I'm not familiar with the windows 7 software calibration, but it sounds like the profile became corrupted somehow, whether at the time of production or later. By all means try recalibrating the same way, but be aware that software calibration is only as accurate as your eyes.
