Problems catalog is not found

I had a breakdown of iMac, that has been repaired.
When opening LR version 6.14, it now shows the Folders of 5540 photos (since 1985) ,
but with a ?-mark in the boxes on left.
No photographs can be found.
In finder I find:
Light Room Catalog. 233,5 Mb
- LR catalog 2 Ircat 233,5 Mb
- LR catalog 2 Previuws 152 Kb

What can I do to solve this problem.

Please be so kind as to give your advise on a step-by-step basis.
Know very little of software!

Basically, Lightroom cannot find the photos. It knows where they should be from before the breakdown, but something has happened during the recovery which means Lightroom can no longer see them.
