Problem with masking

When I mask, I can't enable the color filter that allows you to see the masked area--in any of the options. It used to be either the letter O or Ctrl O.

What do you have Overlay Mode set to?

Color Overlay. It only shows up when you actually go into Masks

Check the 'Show Overlay' checkbox .

Exactly as above. I see that the letter O toggles the "show overlay" checkmark. Still does not show overlay to me.

Maybe a silly question, but have you actually Brushed on the image, or drawn a Gradient on the image?

I get this too but only occasionally. Undoing, moving to another image and back or rebooting LR usually fixes it. I put it down to an occasional glitch somewhere. I expect it will be addresses in some future LrC update.

You can also check to see if the Overlay Opacity is set correctly:
In the "Masks" panel click on the colour chip icon
There is an Opacity slider at the bottom, double click on the "Opacity" text to reset it to normal or adjust slider as needed.

It's okay you checked. I think it's something that simple, but not that.

Thank you. That was the problem. Opacity was set to 0 (far left).
