Problem with LR2

I recently started using LR and there is a message I keep getting on all my pictures when viewing in loop view...

"Rendering: File Changed"

Anyone have this problem?

Could you have worked with the photos using another program, such as Bridge or Photoshop?

I have LR 2.2
I think I have figured out the problem. I used "update metadata and previews" on my pictures and everything is fine now. do I need to do this every time i post process DNF files?
