Problem with LR and email, Win 7

I'm migrating to a new build of my OS an am getting this error message when trying to email photos via Outlook 2''3:

Any suggestions how to fix?

Unless you are also migrating the registry (not a good idea BTW) you will need to reinstall the Apps

If you use Windows Easy Transfer, Windows wil migrate all your important settings and user data. You will still need to reinstall apps like Office and LR.

I haven't transferred anything, except my LR preset folder (user/reid/app data/...) everything else was a fresh install.

Were you using Steve Sutherland's MapiMailer plugin/export action before? I believe that was the best solution for integrating Lr with Outlook on Windows. If so, have you reinstalled it?

I had in the past and reinstalled it this morning via the plug in manager. I'm away from my computer now, so do I just select mapimailer as the export option?

Hasn't adobe figured this out by now?

The mailmapi program works, but why doesn't Win 7 when the RC OS worked?

Are you saying you were able to integrate Lr 2.6 and Outlook under some prerelease version of Win7?

Yeah, it worked fine with win 7, the version that's starting to croak today.

Hmmmm.....I just re-booted to the older Win 7 RC and tried to email directly, as I had, but now it's behaving the same way as the new OS install.

I'm using the same LR catalog.

That's why I asked, I don't think Lr has ever been able to export directly to Outlook, or perhaps single images only. There's always been some sort of incompatibility there. Adobe, Microsoft, who knows? Personally, it's not important to my workflow, so I rather they invest engineering in other Lr aspects.
Of course, I believe it works just fine on Macs.

I know I'm not nuts, at least concerning email exporting from LR. Here's a shot from an email with attachments:



I didn't even know how to use MapiMailer before yesterday!

Are there some files I could pick off my OS to make this work again? What's missing?

I dunno.

I did a bit of research answering earlier, and what I came up was "Lr alone is unable to export multiple files to individual emails using Outlook". That's always been my understanding.

Like you, I'm wondering why it was working at some point? (your screen shot sure points that way.)

I wonder if contacting Steve Sutherland thru his website would be of any use? Looks like he's made some changes, so I'd google both Steve Sutherland and MapiMailer.
