Problem with adjusting settings is Develop Mode

Hi guys,

I'm kind of a newbie in LR and I was adjusting my settings yesterday in Develop mode and i noticed that one i shifted back to Library mode, the settings disappear. Why's that?

I adjusted the Blue color in the Hue tab ( I made it -1') then when i went back to the Library tab, the adjustment vanished. I tried to adjust the Blue to about -5' and when i went back to the Library tab, it stayed. It was really weird.

Im running Lightroom 1.4.1 on a Mac.

Any comments and explanations for this?

Recently also, i get the "error in changing modules" reminder, i just reload the catalog and its fine. But this is getting annoying already.

Ceekster, first, welcome to LR Forums.

How long did you wait after the the first change? Because of the way LR treats previews, it's possible for the Library and Develop modules to be slightly out of sync for some undefined but fairly short period of time.

The Develop module renders pretty much your exact adjustments, on the fly, applied to the original file. (Minor exceptions involve noise adjustments, and capture sharpening at lesser magnifications.)

Meanwhile, the Library module shows the current preview from its cache, consistent with your display mode, grid/loupe/thumbnail size. Sometimes it takes a bit of time for the cache to catch up with the changes made in Develop. Could this explain what you're seeing?

i tried to wait but then nothing really happened. I also noticed that this only happens when im adjusting color. Like when i adjust the WB settings of a photo, it automatically 'renders' almost instantly.

its there some sort of glitch in LR?

I also tried making a new catalog but the same thing still happens. :(

whats also weird is that this only happens to a set of my photos, my last import, when i adjust in develop on my older photos, they seem fine in library mode.
Could it be that the problem is with the import settings?

Just try making a really obvious adjustment (overkill!!!) and then going back to Library and using Library menu > Previews > Render Standard Previews and let us know what happens.
