Problem inserting metadata into multiple images

I use to be able to select multiple images and insert metadata such as workflow data including source, or image data such as city or country into all images at once. Now the data I enter only goes to the first image selected. I have to reenter the information individually for each image.
As this is only recently become a problem, should I reinstall Lightroom or is their a Preference or someting that needs to be reset?

Make sure you are in grid view.

Also ensure Metadata > Show Metadata for Target Photo Only is unticked.
