Printing multiple photos question

Here is another newbe question. How do you print (smaller like 5X7) of multiple photos using the complete sheet of paper. This is not using the LR Templates, since these print out two of the same photo on the sheet. What I'm looking to do is print eight selected photos out on four sheets of paper. This would give me two different photos on each sheet of paper. This would really help me cut down my use of paper if I could print two different photos on the same sheet.

I've tried searching for "printing multiple photos" and have not seen any posts that address this issue.

Hopefully I was clear on the question, if not please ask questions on how I confused you.

Hi Rick, I don't think I've had chance to welcome you yet, so welcome!

In the Print module there's 2 modes - Grid/Contact Sheet and Picture Package.

Grid/Contact Sheet allows you to print lots of different photos, but they have to be all the same size, whereas Picture Package is all the same photo in lots of sizes.

If you use the Grid/Contact Sheet section, you'll be able to do exactly what you're looking for.

Multiple Pictures

Is there a tutorial on printing different photos on one piece of paper in Lightroom 2? I am having the same problem.

To see what is happening to your photos, have the ones you want printed selected and then you will see them appear on the page.

Hi everyone,

On the same topic, I want to print two different 5x7 photos on one sheet of paper to save some paper.
The picture package templates has a template, but it only allows me to print the same photo at the same size.
The contact sheet/grid templates have several templates where I can print different photos, but not a template for two 5x7 templates.

Is there a way I can do this? Or do I have to create a new template? If so, I would be grateful for any help in doing this.

I have read the Print Help section at Adobe, but it doesn't give an answer to my dilemma (as far as I can see).

I am using LR2.1

Hi namalzir, welcome to the forum!

Yes, you can create a new template, or adjust an existing one. If it's a one off, there's no need to save it as a template - just adjust the settings in the panel on the right.

Picture package, as you've noticed, only repeats the same photo multiple times, at least at this point in time. Contact sheet will allow you to do 2 different photos in the same size though, so that should do the job nicely for you.

Namalzir, Welcome to the Forums.

Yes, you'll need to create a new template. (Well, you don't absolutely have to, but if you plan to use it more than once, you should)

First in Page Setup, lower left, make sure the proper paper, size and orientation is selected.

Then in the Right Hand Panel
Select Contact Sheet/Grid
Rotate to Fit
Margins .75 in for left, right, bottom, .2' for top.
Page Grid 2 Rows, by 1 Column
Cell Spacing Vertical '.14
Cell Size Height 5 in Width 7in.

Then click the + sign on the Template Browser (Left Hand Panel) and give the new template a name and save it.

Note that these exact setting were for some pre-perfed paper I had lying around, you may have to tweak the dimensions just a bit to suit your preferences. Once you have it exactly, resave the updated print template by right clicking the the new template you just created above, and select Update with Current Settings.

If your paper and ink is expensive, you may want to practice with cheaper stuff.

Using your tips, I have managed to get my two photos into a new template (and saved it for later).

(I had to quickly print a couple of photos of my son for frames for my mother, who's arriving for a christmas visit tomorrow..:)
