Printing greetings cards

well It's father's day and I thought I'd make my dad a card but I can only get the print module to make it to the image is in the TOP half (of an A4) butI want it on the bottom half so it will fold so it can stand up on it's own

The only alternative AFAICS is to ave 2 columns and rotate to fit but then Im wasting half the A$ page unless I print four out but then theres no back to the card..?

Do I have to rotate the image 18' degrees or how can I do this

And while Im asking how could I make 2 cards off one A4 sheet? - or can't I?

No custom text then on images before they come into print? - is that planned for v2? (haven't checked the beta out after all the probs I had with installing after other betas)

Did you try the 2-up greeting card template? Check the Auto - Rotate to Fit box in the Image Settings panel so no matter what orientation your photo is in it will fit. If you want the same photo on both cards check the Repeat One Photo per Page box.

You could use an identity plate to add custom text.

You're in the Print Module, yes?

You are looking at an A4 Portrait format document, yes?

You have an image in mind that is in a Landscape format (more rectangular than square), yes?

Aassuming that you have your image in the Filmstrip, double click it.

The image should appear across the width of the A4 document preview (ok, it may just have popped into Portrait format, nevermind, carry on).

OK, ensure that Ruler Units : (under the Layout tab) is set to Centimeters.

Under the Margins section set the Top margin to 14.8 cm - your image ought to maintain its proportions as you do this.

Page grid Rows and Columns should remain at 1, all that is left is to change the Cell Size Height so that there is an agreeable amount of white space around your image and perhaps use a nice Stroke Border.

If you have the Show Guides check box checked, you ought to see that, after printing, all that you need to do is fold the media in half - Bingo!

Now get your skates on and remind your Dad just how much he means to you and don't leave it till this late again you naughty offspring. :lol: :lol:

Thanks WoobyWed! - Got it to my dad AM, cinema with my eldest daughter(25yrs) PM and dinner with my youngest daugheter (22yrs) tonight - just got back:cheesy:

Why not lay it out in Photoshop? You can add whatever text you want without having to resort to identity plate tricks.

just a question of time - and not having tried LR printing before - I thought I'd give it a go - usually PHotoshop manages the colours and I wanted to see what it'sd be like with the printer handling the colours - pretty good as it turned out once I'd tweeked the settings

But yes PSHP was the obvious choice but as I said I always seem to end up taking ages oin PSHP - probably because I've got too many options

If you are rendering the ID plate on multiple photos you won't be able to move it off center.
