Hi guys,

I have looked through the archives on here and can't find this question anywhere else so wondering if anyone else has had issues printing and the image coming out slightly too big causing tops of heads to get cropped off, etc. I have selected Epson as my printer under page setup and in the print preview all looks good. Time and again, though, the images come out with a crop factor of 2-3% built in. Is there a way to fix or work around this and is it normal?

Cheers,

Jp

Edit: I have been trying to print borderless 6x4s. Going with borders alleviates the cropping issue but that is not the look I wish to go for.

Normally all images are upscaled slightly by the printer driver when you select border-less printing. My Canons do this under the guise of ensuring that no little white edges appear. By upscaling slightly and running a minuscule overprint it ensures a true 'border-less' print.

You could tinker with Cell Size in the Layout Panel of the Print Module and shrink the Height and Width a couple of hundredths at a time until you start to see a white edge appear.

I think it would be a fussy thing to do and not reliable. The alignment of the paper in the printer is going to affect this somewhat. That is why they do it in the first place-because nothing is exact.

Yes, I have tried that and it has worked. I guess I will have to do this on those occasions where I have had to compose in this way.

Thanks for your help.

Jp

It may also depend on the specific printer. Some offer you in their driver to adjust the amount of overlap. You can check if yours offer this function...
