Brand new to the Forums... I could not find this question/answer, so here it goes:

I am using LR2.1 on my iMac (Leopard) and printing on an Epson Stylus Photo 14''. I have the latest drivers (6.1') and ICC profiles.
My problem is not with the color but the size of prints. My photos print out nowhere near the size the screen shows. An 8x1'" in the print module comes out like 2x3" from my Epson.
Same thing happens in Photoshop CS4. In Apple's Aperture, the prints are perfectly sized.
I tried that Gutenberg (sp) driver and the prints do come out correctly sized, but horrific colors.
Thanks for your help.

Can you tell us a little more about the settings you're using in the Print module panels?
I ask this for two reasons

1) Just to help you get it set right, if you're perhaps missing something.

2)This may not be true in your case, but a very frequent misconception we encounter is that an 8x1' crop implies 8 inches by 1' inches. This is *not* true. Actual unit dimensions (e.g. inches, cms, etc) are meaningless to Lr, until established in the print module. Hence, question 1).

3) Is it possible that you have some 'fitting' or 'sizing' action being taken by the printer drive? You can get to those settings via the 'page setup' function lower left panel in Print Module.

And, oh, BTW Welcome to the Forums, got so caught up in the reply, I forgot my manners ......

Thank you Brad. I'm not exactly sure which setting you want since there are 1 zillion of them but here's what I'm doing:
I clear the layout, I'll add a 4x6" photo this time, cells show 4.''in x 6.''in.
Print res: 24' ppi, Sharpening: Standard, Media: Matte, 16 bit not checked (i have done both since i am on an Intel iMac), Profile: SP14'' 141' UPPM, Rendering: perceptual.
So now I press PRINT, color matching: ColorSync.
What comes our of my Epson is a beautiful print that is always the wrong size. This one is 2" wide x 2-3/4" high. Man I am using tons of ink trying to get this right.

Oh, just now I printed the same photo from LR to my other printer (Brother HL-4'7') just to see if it is the correct size, and it is! So is this an Epson printer driver problem?

Thanks You,
Scooter Lowrimore

In the Print Module near the bottom of the right panel are options to turn on the rulers and some other options that wont print. Enabling the rulers will help you to see dimensions on screen before printing. Most of the time, the results you get are from choosing the wrong paper size...

So is this an Epson printer driver problem?

Maybe not a problem, so much as a missed setting somewhere. Not having a photoquality Epson, I can't guess what.

I have a crap HP all-in-one, that beat me senseless over borderless prints, until I found a setting about 3 menus deep in the HP set up menu. Perhaps this is something similar.

Thanks everyone. Epson spent several hours with me over the phone and fixed the problem. I went into my Mac Preferences to Print/Fax and removed all the drivers from 5 printers, then reloaded them one by one, and wallah! I guess I will have a happy Thanksgiving now :)

Happy Turkey eating Scooter !!
You removed and reinstalled the drivers, that all or was there something else like newer versions?

print driver versions

I had the newest correct divers installed. It's like they were fighting with eachother and I had to break them apart and start from scratch. Whatever happened, it seemed to be the right fix.

Welcome Samkington!

You simply create your A9 size in the server properties then you can use it on the printer(s).

Open "Printer & Fax". In the menu under "File", click on "Server properties". Put a checkmark in front of "Create New Form" and there you go.

For the jamming, some printers do have a lever to control the height of the print heads. Look for it on the printer or in its manual...

[Explanation for the sake of continuity - Samkington (post before Denis') has been removed as a spammer]

Quite a believable spammer, for once!

It is a chance for you that spam doesn't go by message counts in the forums! :icon_lol: :D :icon_mrgreen:
